Effect of seed pretreatment on germination of Bobgunnia madagascariensis (Desv.) J.H. Kirkbr & Wiersema

Knowledge of the method seed germination is an important step domestication crop plants. The objective this study was to test aptitude Bobgunnia madagascariensis (Desv.) using pretreatment condition. Eight batches seeds were evaluated in two distinct substrates; namely sandy soil and ferralitic soil: (i) soaking cold water for 24 hours; (ii) hot at 100 o C 5 mm followed by immersion into tap hours, (iii) scarification with razor blade. For each substrate, treatments compared untreated controls. Results showed that sown after recorded highest percentage (77.78%) (P < 0.05).
